Be On Your Guard Mark 13:5-13

The Lord’s remark about the destruction of the temple prompted the disciples to ask, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”(Mark 13:4)
The Lord’s elaborate response to this question is known as the Olivet discourse. Instead of giving direct answers, He told them what they need to know and do. Be on your guard against false teachers. The Lord warned His disciples, “See to it that no one misleads you. “Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He! and will mislead many.” (Mark 13:5-13). Our generation has not been spared either.

These are ferocious wolves in sheep clothing. ” Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?” (Matthew 7:15-16)
They are Paul “….false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:13). Apostle John warned. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1). We need godly discernment and sound knowledge of God’s word to escape the lies and deceits of the false prophets, that have infiltrated the world and infested the body of Christ.

The Lord further alerted His disciples, “when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.”(Mark 13:7). The massive deception and discord are a prelude to the tribulation era.

More so, persecution of the disciples for Christ’s sake shall mark the prelude, but the Holy Spirit shall be a sure resource and succor.
The current world events are pre-tribulation, we must be on guard and not be afraid.
Be on your guard against false teachers.
